woodfuel

Woodfuel for Sale [more]

RE:think Energy have a sustainable resource of quality woodfuel for sale. The fuel is available ex works in any quantity, and delivery can be arranged if client haulage is not available.

For more information download the Woodfuel Supply handout (PDF), or contact James Cartwright by calling 07876 652323 or emailing j.cartwright@staffs-wildlife.org.uk.

This programme will increase the capacity of both the production and the use of biomass in the form of woodfuel. In order to increase the use of biomass as an energy source, end users must have a consistent quality and reliability of supply. Similarly, on the flip side, in order for investment in production to increase, potential producers must have a guaranteed local demand.  It is these two elements that the Capacity Building Programme will bring together.

Working in partnership, a steering group has been formed to oversee the work of the project, which will assist in developing the Biomass framework and achieving the key aims of the scheme.

What do they do?

  • Determine the future market for woodfuel
  • Identify locations and desired parameters for fuel production and storage
  • Research sources of raw material and costs
  • Investigate delivery options and costs of wood chips
  • Test various fuel sources and mixes to ensure quality and uniformity of supply
  • Explore different methods of processing woodfuel
  • Assess the viability of installing biomass
  • Consider the basis of contracts between fuel suppliers and end users
  • Develop point of sale and tender sale agreements for woodfuel buyers
  • Biomass feasibility studies
  • Lobby influencers to encourage planners and builders to consider Biomass at the outset of any construction
